How to Customize Related List on Salesforce Page Layouts.

How to add related list in salesforce

Have you ever needed to add or change the sorting structure of related list on a Salesforce object?

If you click on any object within salesforce you will notice a “related” list section.

The process to add pages , or to change the order of this list is quite simple. 

Here are the steps:

1. Navigate to the Set up Menu in Salesforce.

2. In Set up, Click on the “Object Manager” tab

Step 3. Choose the Object that you would like to edit.

Select Object

Step 4: Once in the Object, select the Page Layouts button. Then choose the specific page layout, you would like to edit. 

Step 5. Scroll to the bottom of the Page Layout Editor, until you reach the “Related List” Section. 

Step 6. Select the “related list” options at the top of the page to display what objects are available for you to display. 

Step 7. You can drag and drop items from the top panel into the related lists below, and Vice Versa you can remove items from the lists below and drag back to the top panel. 

Step 8. You can also drag items from the related list up or down, depending on where you would like that object placed and in what order. 

Step 9. Once you have all the objects you would like listed, and they are in the correct order simply select “Save” at the top of the screen. Always, Always, Save, as if you don’t you will lose all of your edits.
